As part of the activities of the BIOMAC project, we are organising a series of stakeholder engagement events in three different countries (Italy, Germany and Greece) to showcase the successful implementation of realistic test cases from the BIOMAC project.
This event, taking place in Greece, is organised as a satellite event for the POLYMERS 2024 conference, capitalising on this great opportunity for the BIOMAC project and its contributors to connect the engagement of relevant stakeholders from Greece with the conference activities and explore the innovation potential related to the BIOMAC Open Innovation Test Bed (OITB), while addressing industrial needs & targets.
The primary objectives are to attract Greek SMEs and other stakeholders interested in accessing BIOMAC’s infrastructure for research, development, testing, and validation of innovative concepts. We will be presenting the advancements and the capabilities of BIOMAC OITB, while also inviting experts from key enabling organisations related to Greek high-tech stakeholders to join us and provide their insights.
Special focus will be placed on the synergy between high-potential funding mechanisms and impactful technology transfer opportunities, aiming to encourage new collaborations that will enable more interested innovators to engage with the BIOMAC OITB.
The event will focus on the synergy between different funding instruments, highlighting the “Research – Innovate” programme (“Ερευνώ – Καινοτομώ”) in particular, and technology transfer opportunities, aiming to foster new collaborations and engagement with the BIOMAC OITB. Guest speakers will share their successful R&I endeavours engaging with such funding sources to innovate, demonstrating the value of combining funding sources to maximise real SME impact. This is part of the key concept of OITBs pursued by the European Commission in this type of open innovation projects.
The organisation of this event will be undertaken by EXELISIS, RDC Informatics, and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, all of which are partners of the BIOMAC project based in Greece.
This event will be held in Greek language.

BIOMAC
BIOMAC Project, funded under Horizon2020, targets establishing the European Sustainable BIO-based nanoMaterials Community, facilitating the creation of an Open Innovation Test Bed (OITB). This collaborative platform serves as an ecosystem for upscaling and preparing technologies and solutions utilising nano-enabled bio-based materials (NBMs) for market applications. The OITB, consisting of 17 pilot lines, has already proven its high-quality services through 5 successful Test Cases in diverse sectors (Food Packaging, Automotive, Agriculture, Electronics and Construction) and 6 more cases are being realised to further present its capabilities and reliability. The OITB will continue to function as an ecosystem through a one-stop-shop (presented by IBB Netzwerk) to be easily accessible at fair conditions and costs.
